3 ingredient homemade fruit syrup:
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1 bag frozen fruit (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and cherries all work well)
- 1 tsp arrowroot (or more for thicker syrup, you could also substitute cornstarch)
Heat in sauce pan until frozen fruit is hot and the syrup is the thickness you desire.
*Put on stove at beginning of making waffle (or pancake) batter and continue to simmer until all the waffles are done.
* For the raspberry syrup, I pushed the sauce through a sieve to remove the seeds and then continued to simmer the seedless sauce until desired consistency. For the blueberry syrup, I left them whole.
